Selecting Drivers
|
Before each race, you must select a squad of four drivers on your my Team page.
During each segment, you can only choose each driver a maximum of four times for your team. Driver selections will not carry over from the first segment to the second segment, so once segment two begins, players may again select any driver up to four times through the end of the segment. Lineups will carry over from week to week, but once a driver has been used four times during the segment, that driver will stop accruing points.
|
Scoring
|
|
For each Contest Week, points will be earned based on the qualifying and finishing position of all four drivers that you selected for that Contest Week, plus any points earned based on improvement from starting and finishing position, as set forth in this Section 5. Points earned from the four drivers that you selected for that Contest Week will be determined by their official finishing position (according to NASCAR) in that Contest Week's scheduled race as follows:

Qualifying points will not be awarded for the Daytona 500. The points earned by your selected drivers will be added together to generate your score for that Contest Week.
In addition to the points awarded above for final qualifying and finishing positions, each driver will earn one (1) point per position improved between qualifying position and finishing position. All bonus points are awarded based on qualifying position and not starting position.
For example, if a driver qualifies 3rd and then blows an engine in practice and moves to the back of the pack to start the race, any bonus points earned will be based on the position the driver qualified and not where he originally started.
All increases over 30 positions earn 30 points. If a player's selected driver finishes a race in a tie for a position, the player will receive points equal to the average of the combined points (rounded to the nearest whole number, with .5 being rounded up) earned by all the drivers tied for the position.
For example, if there is a three-way tie for the fourth place position in a race, players who have designated any of these three drivers for their main team will each earn 107 points [(115+105+100)/3] for each of these drivers. In this example, the next fastest driver would be in seventh place.
For any week in which a player submits an invalid driver line-up (for example, the same driver is selected 5 or more times), the player will only receive points based on the performance of the properly selected drivers.
Only one driver line-up is allowed per person per week. If more than one driver line-up is submitted, the most recent one will be used. No responsibility is assumed for late, lost or misdirected entries.
In the event that a scheduled race is canceled, fantasy points will not be awarded for that week.
The three lowest weekly team total scores from the first half of the season will be dropped, as will the three lowest weekly team total scores from the second half of the season.
